As cricket fans, we have seen countless misfields, dropped catches and fielding blunders but we haven’t seen all of this at once. But in the ECS Portugal T10 league, all these mishaps followed by an overthrow four happened on just one ball as the Coimbra Knights took on the Friendship CC in the 21st match of the tournament.
Coimbra Knights won the toss and elected to bowl at the Gucherre Cricket Ground in Albergaria. The Friendship CC had a slow start to their innings but soon picked up with Mohammed Jayed Alam scoring big runs. As FRD continued their climb, in the last over, Alam and his partner Ashraful Rupu, exchanged singles. Then Alam went for a massive slog which went straight down the throat of the mid-wicket fielder.
Here the player with jersey number 14 messed up the catch and dropped it. Then his bad day continued as he sent out the ball at the middle with a powerful throw. But his throw was way off as the ball darted towards the third man boundary where two fielders tried to stop the ball. Unfortunately, both fielders also failed to stop the ball and it went straight for a boundary, eventually conceding 6 runs off 1 ball.
