While Irish MMA boxer Conor McGregor is a known name in the realm of the sport, one may choose to wonder how he would have performed had he taken to other sports. But from the evidence at display during a Major League Baseball game on Tuesday, it could definitely be argued that he would have not made a great basketball player. Notably, the former UFC two-division champion was called upon to join ranks of MMA fighters a ceremonial first pitch and ended up with a wayward pitch far away from its intended target.

While he may have been the best-dressed individual for the occasion, he was certainly not among the best at the sport. Clearly, he looks far from being a big-league pitcher and video evidence of the same is doing the rounds on the internet.

Notably, this is not the first time an MMA fighter has struggled to perform on the mound. In fact, earlier in the same year UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis had a first pitch at a Houston Astros game that was so poor that it had to be compared to rapper 50 Cent's similar attempt seven years ago in 2014.

However, not all were critical of McGregor's attempt, after all, that's not his primary job. A few others even saw the funny side of things. UFC contender Justin Gaethje said that while every MMA fighter looks terrible while attempting this, McGregor's tops it all.

"I cannot stop laughing at this. Every MMA fighter that has represented us doing this has looked terrible but this takes the cake," Gaethje tweeted.

McGregor earlier suffered a broken tibia in the trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. While he is still nursing his injury and has not yet completely recovered, he is likely to make a comeback sometime in 2022.

In his latest social media post, McGregor even talked about the world's highest-paid athletes list which he topped yet again beating the star footballers Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. "170lb weight division is nice for me. Look at the fullness here on the scale in 2020. I Wonder what 180lbs would look like for me in this day and age jacked to the teeth 2021. Match my years take. $180m. Twelve months. Number 1, 2021.The Mac Lion ?," he wrote.
