Cristiano Ronaldo's second stint with Manchester United is not going how the Portuguese had thought. Neither Ronaldo nor his team has been able to put up a good performance in recent games. After being knocked out of the Champions League, the Red Devils were defeated by Everton in their Premier League meet. Ralf Ragnick's team could not score a single goal and were kept at bay by Everton players.

This loss against Everton enticed some angry reactions from United fans as well as from its players. While United's goalkeeper David de Gea called the defeat "a disgrace", Cristiano Ronaldo smashed a fan's cellphone while returning to the change room. The video of the incident went viral in no time and some reports claim that the management is already looking into the matter. In the viral video, Ronaldo is seen smashing a fan's mobile phone while people around shout.

It's a disgrace on us: David de Gea

The Red Devils' goalkeeper did not look happy with his team's effort on Saturday evening and called the loss "a disgrace on them". De Gea said that even though Everton had come into the game after playing on Wednesday and were tired, they showed more desire than Man United. “They played Wednesday, and they were tired, but they had more desire than us, that is not acceptable. Very sad to lose. It is a disgrace from us. We should be winning this game," said De Gea.

Notably, with this loss to Everton, Man United's hope to qualify for the Champions League have been put under threat. Team manager Ralf Ragnick also found it difficult to explain why his team lost the game. “If you don’t score in 95 minutes against a team who conceded three goals against Burnley it is difficult to explain.

“For us as a coaching staff, it is difficult to understand why we didn’t create more chances in a game like this. The first 25 minutes we were in full control of the game," said Ragnick.
