Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are battling it out in Match 58 of IPL 2022 to better their playoff chances. Delhi Capitals’ captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and invited RR to bat first. DC bowlers, especially Chetan Sakariya and Mitchell Marsh bowled beautifully to restrict RR to 160/6 in their 20 overs.
While batting, DC got an early blow as KS Bharat perished to Trent Boult. It was nervy even after that for Mitchell Marsh and David Warner as the RR pacers were spitting venom. However, the DC duo did a great job to see off that fiery spell from Boult and formed a partnership.
Luck also favoured the two batters as they survived quite a few close calls. While Marsh survived a close LBW call, David Warner had a lucky save against Yuzvednra Chahal. The southpaw batter survived even after the ball hit the stumps. On the last delivery of the 9th over of DC innings, Chahal bowled a ripper that turned a long way and kissed Warner’s leg stump. However, the bails on the stumps did not come off. Both the batter and the bowler had a laugh at that lucky save.

Warner gets to another fifty!
After surviving this close call, David Warner capitalized and registered his fifth half-century of the season. The southpaw batter scored an unbeaten 52 off 41 balls and also hit the winning runs for his team. Warner did start a tad slow as he was playing second fiddle to Mitchell Marsh. However, after crossing the 30-run mark, Warner put his foot on the gas and aggregated some quick runs, and then finished the game.
Meanwhile, Mitchell Marsh completely stole the limelight with his all-round performance. The Aussie all-rounder took two wickets while bowling and then scored 89 off 62 balls with the bat. Although he could not get to his maiden IPL century, Marsh did everything possible to bring two crucial points for DC.
