Deepak Hooda seems to be a man on a mission. Despite his team Lucknow Super Giants in a spot of bother after losing 4 wickets under 30 runs in their first match ever at IPL 2022, Hooda did not lose hope but instead donned a counter-attacking avatar and reached his half-century in 36 balls to bail Lucknow from an embarrassing situation.
His innings, by the time he reached his fifty, included five boundaries and two sixes. Along with IPL debutant Ayush Badoni, the two batters have already added over 85 runs for the fifth wicket without eating a lot of deliveries which has put them in a great position at this stage. After reaching his fifty, Hooda did a passionate celebration but at the same time seemed hungry to continue for more.

Unfortunately for Lucknow though, the right-handed batter could not continue for long and added another boundary and a total for 5 runs before being given out LBW for 55 with Rashid Khan scalping his wicket.
