Dinesh Karthik is in some serious form in IPL 2022. The veteran batter is doing everything asked of him. He has adopted the finisher's role to perfection and has filled the void which was created with the departure of AB de Villiers. He is smashing anything and everything he is being thrown. In the first five games, he gave a glimpse of what he is capable of doing with his short cameos.
But in the game against Delhi Capitals on Saturday evening, Dinesh Karthik did what he is capable of. He hit a half-century in just 26 balls. The best of Karthik was seen in Mustafizur Rahman's over as the batter accumulated 28 runs off the over. Karthik hit four boundaries and two sixes in the over to make it the most expensive over of the innings.
On the first three balls, he hit three consecutive boundaries all around the park. On the 4th and 5th delivery, Karthik earned 12 more runs with two brilliant sixes. He finished the over on a high as he hit another boundary on the last ball of the over.

Karthik, Shahbaz at it, yet again!
If Karthik played the aggressor's role, Shahbaz Ahmad played a perfect second fiddle. The leftie continued his good run in IPL 2022 as he scored 32* off 21 balls. While Karthik was smashing DC bowlers for fun, Ahmad was making sure he gets the strike. Apart from rotating the strike, Ahmad was also finding timely boundaries. In his innings of 32, he hit three fours and a six.
The duo of Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmad put on a 97* runs stand in 52 balls to help RCB reach an above-par total. In this tournament, both Shahbaz and Karthik have put on some good partnerships to make things easier for RCB.
