Form is temporary, class is permanent! Well, Dinesh Karthik has time and again proved this famous phrase throughout his career. The veteran cricketer, who has represented India in more than 150 matches across all formats, has been out of national side for some time. However, this has not stopped DK to show his class on the field of cricket.

Having missed the recently-concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy due to injury, the wicketkeeper batsman was back in Tamil Nadu side for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He played some crucial knocks for his side throughout the tournament as Vijay Shankar led team reached the final. However, Karthik had saved his best for the last!

DK shows his class!

After Himachal Pradesh put Tamil Nadu to bat first in Jaipur, a bizarre change in batting order meant that TN found themselves reeling at 34/3 in 12 overs. This is when DK walked out to bat and he certainly showed his class.

The veteran batsman chose a counter-attacking approach as he played some glorious shots all around the ground to put the pressure back on the opposition. From straight-drives to sweeps to reverse-sweeps, DK showed his 360 degree skills as he went on to smash a brilliant century on Sunday.

Karthik ended his innings on 116 off 103 balls, which included 8 fours and 7 sixes. He notched up a mammoth partnership with Baba Indrajith as the duo added 202 runs for the 5th wicket. After their dismissal, Shahrukh Khan played a quick-fire cameo of 42 off 21 as Tamil Nadu put up a competitive total of 314 on board.
