Former Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Dinesh Karthik was forced to take evasive action on Saturday during an intra-squad match at Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium. Swasbuckling all-rounder Andre Russell smashed a poweful shot straight down ground. The immense power behind the shot left Karthik with very little time to get out of the way. However, Dinesh Karthik somehow managed to evade the ball and in the process, he also fell down on his knees.

The social media handle of Kolkata Knight Riders shared a video of the incident. Karthik just kneeled down in time. While a commentator can be heard saying, "That almost took the non-striker out. That was one hell of a shot." The players of the franchise played the match after completing their mandatory 7-day quarantine period.
