IPL 2021 has finally resumed in UAE and it was nothing short of an exciting action in the first half of match number 30 between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. The 'El Clasico' has always proven to be a roller-coaster contest for the fans over the years and it was nothing different on Sunday. After winning the toss, MS Dhoni opted to bat first and the decision seemed to have backfired in early part of the game.
The Kiwi pace duo of Trent Boult and Adam Milne bowled a fiery spell in the powerplay to restrict CSK to 24/4 in 6 overs. Ambati Rayudu had also walked off the pitch retired hurt and the onus was on Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja to get their side back into the contest.
The right hand-left hand combination started to work for the Yellow Army as the two batsmen steadied the innings. The duo added 81 runs for the 5th wicket and CSK were certainly back in the game. However, they needed few quick runs in the end to cross the 150-run mark at least.
Dwayne Bravo plays a crucial fiery cameo towards the end
With the score reading 105/5 in 16.4 overs, CSK's experienced all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who was included in the side because of Sam Curran's unavailability, justified his selection in style. The 37-year-old did not have much time left to make an impact but it was probably enough for Bravo.
The right-handed batsman made his intentions clear when he smashed Adam Milne for a mesmerizing six over the extra-cover region on the last ball of 18th over. After he got back on strike in next over, he provided the same treatment to Trent Boult and played two gorgeous shots, the first towards the covers followed by another towards deep mid-wicket.

In just a matter of few minutes, Bravo had hit three consecutives sixes and that too against the two best MI bowlers on the day. Although Jasprit Bumrah got the better of him in the final over, Bravo's 8-ball 23-run cameo was enough to power his side to a competitive total of 156/6 in 20 overs.
