Whenever Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) meet in the Indian Premier League (IPL), things are bound to happen. The two teams share a long history and that is why their faceoff has been named the El Clasico of IPL. And Thursday evening is the day for El Clasico of IPL 2022.
Mumbai and Chennai are locking horns at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. After opting to bowl first, Chennai bowlers showed some great skills to get rid of MI’s top order really quickly. None of Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav could do much as they were removed cheaply. With five wickets down quickly, Kieron Pollard had to walk out in the middle.
When Pollard is out there, he does things that attract eyeballs. The same happened in the Friday game. When the MI all-rounder came on to bat, there was another West Indian waiting for him. Dwayne Bravo came to bowl against Pollard and both the players could not resist showing their bromance on the field. After Dwayne Bravo threw the ball toward Kieron Pollard aggressively, Pollard sent him back with a kiss on his head.

Pollard falls to MSD trap, once again
Although Pollard looked super chilled during his stay at the crease, he could not resist walking straight into the trap set by MS Dhoni. The ‘keep a fielder right behind the bowler’ ploy once against worked for CSK. Even after 12 years, Pollard fell into the trap. CSK placed a fielder right below the sightscreen on the bowling of Maheesh Theekshana
The bowler bowled a regulation delivery outside the off-stump line. Pollard played a lofted shot but could not time it and the ball hit the toe end of his bat. Resultantly, the ball was caught a few feet inside the boundary rope by Shivam Dube
