Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli's lean patch with the bat continued against England as well, after he was dismissed on 11 run on Day 1 of the fifth Test at Edgbaston. After the Indian team suffered a mini-collapse at the start of their innings, the onus was on Virat Kohli who once again disappointed after he was caught in two minds.

Kohli's dismissal came in the 25th over as Matty Potts bowled an inswinger and the Indian batter was left confused on whether to play the ball or not. The delivery took the inside edge of Kohli's bat and struck the stumps.

While Indian fans were left disheartened, England fans celebrated the occasion knowing the value of the wicket. England's famous fan group, Barmy Army, tweeted the video of England's fan singing 'Cheerio' indirectly poking fun at Indian batter. The Barmy Army tweeted another video where they wrote '71' alongside the emoji of a timer, celebrating the dismissal of Virat Kohli as the batter made his way to the dugout.

Speaking of the match, Rishabh Pant smashed the fastest century by an Indian wicket-keeper as he stitched a much-needed 222-run stand with Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who is currently unbeaten at 83*. Earlier, Ben Stokes opted to bowl first as England bowlers proved him right by reducing India to 98/5 in 27.5 overs. For England, James Anderson picked three wickets, while Matty Potts picked two wickets.
