It has been another fine performance from the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batting unit in Match 31 of IPL 2022 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to post a strong total on the board. The likes of Anuj Rawat and Virat Kohli failed to provide notable contributions, but Faf du Plessis slammed 96 off 64 balls, including two sixes and 11 fours. The middle-order again came to the rescue, with Glenn Maxwell and Shahbaz Ahmed providing 20+ contributions.

After RCB posted 181 on the board, the bowlers did well to put optimum pressure on the opposition. The Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has already taken two wickets off his two overs and will hold the key in the death overs. Apart from him, Shahbaz Ahmed completed his full quota of four overs, impressing with an economy of 6.25, and kept things tight in the middle.

After doing well with the bat, Faf has given it all in the field as well. In the 11th over of LSG’s innings, Deepak Hooda tried to hit a boundary straight down the ground off Shahbaz, but it was the RCB captain, who was fielding at long-on and ran across the field in a brisk manner and jumped to save two runs for the team. In the pursuit of saving a boundary, he crashed into the ad hoardings. Initially, it seemed as if he has injured himself but was alright.
