Team India suffered another heartbreaking loss against South Africa as Heinrich Klaasen scored an incredible 81-run knock in Cuttack. The fans at the Barabati Stadium were extremely dejected to see their team losing but created magic after all the cricket was over. Despite the defeat, all supporters in Cuttack came together and sang the iconic A.R Rahman song, ‘Maa Tujhe Saalam’.

The fans lit up the Barabati Stadium with their flashlights as everyone in the park sang in sync. The moment definitely gave goosebumps and tells us how sports despite wins and losses is a communal affair that brings people together. Now the India -South Africa series moves to the Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam for the third T20I, scheduled to be played on Tuesday, 14 June.

As mentioned earlier, the star of the match was Heinrich Klaasen as he replaced the injured Quinton de Kock to get his first start of the series. Batting at number four, Klaasen came into bat when the Proteas were struggling at 13/2 and smashed seven fours and five sixes.

Reacting to his performance, Klaasen said, “Quinny came up to me in the bus and told me that he has injured his wrist. Yesterday morning his hand was a bit stiff, so I got to know that I am playing.”

“It looked very difficult with the new ball, so I tried to target the spinners. I am glad it happened against India. I am honoured to be here, and I am lucky to be here. Lot of staff members backed me, so pretty happy with that support, this one's for them”, Klaasen added.
