The ongoing season of Caribbean Premier League (CPL) continues to produce entertainment on the field. While fans have already enjoyed some brilliant batting displays and outstanding bowling spells by players in the tournament, something very rare happened during match no. 19 between Jamaica Tallawahs and Trinbago Knight Riders.
While being put to bat first, the Knight Riders' score read 139/4 in 19 overs. They were looking for a strong finish in the final over with Kieron Pollard and Tim Seifert looking in good rhythm. After starting off with a dot delivery, Migael Pretorious was smashed for two back-to-back sixes by Pollard which was followed by an extremely comical sequence of events.
Catch dropped followed by overthrow allows batsmen to run 4
On the fourth ball of the over, Kieron Pollard tried to slog a ball but got a thick edge as the ball went up in the air towards third man region. Veerasammy Permaul, who was standing at short third-man followed the ball and reached it but failed to hold on to the catch. He was disappointed because of the drop and lost his focus for a second.
Citing an opportunity, Tim Seifert called Pollard for a third run which is when Permaul threw the ball waywardly at the striker's end. There was no one backing up as the two batsmen stole one more run to complete 4 runs between the wickets. From what should have been the end of his innings, it turned into 4 runs for Pollard in a matter of few seconds!

Pollard adds salt on the wound
Following this unfortunate sequence of the events for the bowler, things went from bad to worse as Pretorius was hit for a boundary on the next delivery itself. The right-arm pacer certainly lost his concentration as he bowled a wide ball then before Pollard ended the innings on a high with a thunderous six.
As many as 28 runs were scored off the final over as the Knight Riders went on to post a total of 167/4 in the first innings. While Pollard stayed unbeaten on 39* off 18, Tim Seifert also played a quick-fire cameo of 24* off 8.
