‘Catches win matches’. This phrase is used in cricket more often than not because its relevance is never going to die. But there have been many examples when a catch has turned the course of the match. While a dropped chance can cost too many runs, a stunner can end an unbelievable inning. With cricket evolving in every aspect, spectacular catches have become so common. But that does not take the thrill away.
It always feels good to watch the videos of some catches on loop. The video of one such catch is going viral on the internet. Not sure if this catch won the match for the fielding team but it surely won the hearts of everyone who saw it. It made everyone believe in luck. In a video from village cricket, a fielder is seen holding on to a catch on a third attempt after almost dropping it.
Many may think that what’s so special in a juggling catch. Well, this one stands a tad different from what has been seen so far. So, it starts with the fielder failing to hold on to a simple catch off his own bowling. The batter tries to play a shot but the ball balloons up in the air and the bowler calls for the catch. He settles himself underneath the ball expecting to complete a clean catch.
But to his disappointment, the ball spills out of his hand and the fielder also falls to the ground. The biggest twist takes place after this. As the fielder falls down on the ground, his right leg lifts in the air, and luckily for him, the ball that slipped out of his hand goes up on rebound after hitting his foot. The fielder then easily grabs the ball to complete one of the most entertaining and lucky catches.
