Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus took only 90 seconds to score his debut goal for Arsenal in a friendly match against FC Nurnberg on Friday. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta hailed their No. 9 for getting off the mark after coming on as a half-time substitute.
Following the departures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, the striker’s position was empty which was straight away filled by Jesus as he scored two goals to help Arsenal pull off a 5-3 comeback in pre-season match-up.

Mikel Arteta has praised the new signing after his fantastic performance and said, “He’s all energy. You see his enthusiasm, he’s always smiling, he’s always talking to his teammates and apart from that I think he brings a different level of desire and commitment and enthusiasm, so I think it’s really good.”
The Brazilian striker combined with Eddie Nketiah to score his debut goal for Arsenal, appreciating that Arteta said, “That’s why we brought him here, to put the ball in the back of the net and obviously for his confidence and for him to believe in what we are doing I think it’s really important and he’s settled really well. I know him really well because I worked with him before and I know that there’s not going to be any issue there.”
Arsenal will start their Premier League season against Crystal Palace away from home on August 6.
