Royal Challengers Bangalore have started their IPL 2021 preparations in full swing as they get set to play the season opener against Mumbai Indians on April 9. As the franchise played an exciting intra-squad practice match on Sunday, the players were back in action to play a competitive contest on Monday. Much to the excitement of RCB fans, their latest recruits Glenn Maxwell and Kyle Jamieson ended their quarantine period and were seen on the ground watching the match.

Glenn 'Big Show' Maxwell returns in style

While there was a speculation that the star Aussie all-rounder will spend the day on bench, Maxwell delighted all the cricket fans as he stepped on to the field to do some batting. The 32-year-old certainly did not fail to impress as he produced an outrageous shot on his first day of practice. Facing the medium pacer Dan Christian, Maxwell was looking in destructive mode as he opened his stance to do some power-hitting down the ground. However, the right-handed batsman bluffed everyone as he played an unbelievable reverse-sweep off a fast full-length delivery from Christian.

The 32-year-old has played for various franchises in IPL, including Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). He has played 82 matches at the marquee event and has scored 1505 runs at a strike-rate of 154.67.

After getting released by KL Rahul's side ahead of IPL 2021, he was bought by RCB for a whopping sum of INR 14.25 crore. If the early signals are to be believed, this might just be the season when Maxwell unleashes his full potential at the mega event. The trio of Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli and Ab de Villiers is certainly looking lethal on paper and if they can fire in unison, it is going to be a delight for all the cricket lovers across the globe.
