The recently-concluded Copa America 2021 produced some absolutely audacious strikes which left the fans in awe of the brilliance of players. From Eduardo Vargas' left-foot volley against Bolivia to Lionel Messi's sensational free-kick against Chile, there were quite a few moments of magic in Brazil. However, one player who was at a different level altogether this year was Colombia's winger Luis Diaz, who finished as the joint-highest goal-scorer with 4 goals, along side Lionel Messi.

Diaz's goal vs Brazil was the goal of the tournament

All of Luis Diaz's goal in Copa America 2021 were praiseworthy, especially the one from outside the box that he scored against Peru in the last-minute to seal 3rd place for Colombia. However, it was his tremendous piece of skill against Brazil which stood apart from all the other goals scored this year.

It was the 10th minute of the game with the game evenly poised at 0-0. Juan Cuadrado delivered a delicious cross from the right flank but it was slightly behind Luis Diaz who had positioned himself cleverly at the far post. Citing an opportunity to score, the 24-year-old flew in the air and produced a wondrous bicycle kick to volley it past Brazil's goalkeeper Weverton Pereira.

Although Brazil went on to win the match 2-1 in the end, the goal remained one of the best that was scored in the tournament. The execution of 'bicycle kick' is one of the most difficult art in the game of football and considering the way Diaz hit it to perfection, there is no doubt that he deserved all the credit for producing an unforgettable moment of sheer brilliance.
