The two new entrants in IPL, Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans are facing each other for the second time this season. Unlike their last meeting, Lucknow Super Giants are enjoying an upper hand in the game rather than Gujarat. The KL Rahul-led team got off to a good start despite losing the toss as they removed two GT batters within the first six overs.

However, Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya were looking to form a partnership with the wicket sticking a bit. While Gill was finding timely boundaries, Hardik, still new at the crease, was nudging deliveries for singles. With the scoring rate getting a hit, the GT captain tried to break shackles against Avesh Khan. However, he could only manage to edge a wide delivery from the bowler.

On the first delivery of the 10th over of the GT innings, Khan bowled a wide delivery that was there to be put away. Pandya felt the same way and went hard at the ball. But in the process, he lost his shape and could only manage a thick outside edge which was easily caught by the wicketkeeper.

Missing the big opportunity to score, Pandya stood in the middle in disbelief and agony. It seemed he did not want to walk back to the pavilion. He was so devastated that he did not take off his helmet even after reaching the dugout.

Gujarat post 144/4 in 20 overs

Although Gujarat lost some early wickets ad looked in a spot of bother, they posted 144/4 in their 20 overs. Shubman Gill was the star for GT with the bat as the opening batter scored his 4th half-century of the season (63* off 49). Gill was ably supported by David Miller (26 off 24 balls) and Rahul Tewatia (22* off 16 balls). For LSG, Avesh Khan took two wickets while Mohsin Khan once again impressed with his bowling figures of 4-0-18-1.
