Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans are locking horns at the DY Patil Stadium in the 21st match of IPL 2022. Hyderabad who are coming into the game after beating defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), opted to bowl first against GT. Kane Williamson's decision paid off as their veteran pacer got rid of in-form Shubman Gill in the third over of the GT innings.

Another one came for SRH in form of Sai Sudarshan who was dismissed by T Natarajan in his very first over, This brought the GT captain in the middle. Hardik Pandya walked out to bat at No.4 for Gujarat and opened his account with a glorious boundary straight down the ground. But Pandya was taken aback By Umran Malik who bowls at gun speed.

The SRH pacer started his spell with a fiery bouncer that hit Pandya on his helmet. The delivery was bowled at 140kmph and therefore Pandya could not connect it with his bat. However, the GT captain seemed alright after an inspection from the physio and continued batting.

Hardik pounces back!

After getting hit on the helmet, Pandya gave a befitting reply with two consecutive boundaries on the next two deliveries. He hit the next ball from Malik for a glorious cover drive. The bowler then shortened length to just get pulled away for another four. Hardik continued to dominate Umran Malik in his next overs as well. The Gujarat captain hit another boundary off Malik in his third over of the day.

After losing three wickets early, Gujarat recovered on the back of a 40-run partnership between Hardik Pandya and David Miller. The duo took 33 balls to notch up the partnership. However, Matthew Wade perished while trying to take on fellow countrymen Marco Jansen in the 14th over,
