Match no. 29 between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals produced some of the most bizarre incidents of the 14th edition of Indian Premier League. After Chris Gayle unbelievably got bowled off a Kagiso Rabada full-toss, the fans thought that they had seen the most strange moment of the evening. However, everyone was proven wrong when two Punjab batsmen found themselves at the same end in a funny series of events.

Most hilarious dismissal of the season

The incident happened in the 14th over of the match where Axar Patel was building pressure on the Punjab batsmen. After the left-arm spinner had dismissed Dawid Malan, all the responsibility was on the shoulders of stand-in skipper Mayank.

As the 30-year-old played a drive towards extra cover, he took off for a quick single. However, Deepak Hooda, who was standing at the non-striker's end took few steps before backing out. A diving effort from Shimron Hetmyer put the batsmen in trouble as he released the ball very quickly and threw it towards Axar. In a bizarre sequence of events, both Mayank and Hooda tried to reach the crease at the bowler's end. Interestingly, both the players failed to cross the line before the stumps were lit by Axar. As the decision was referred to third umpire to see who got out, the replays made it clear that the batsmen had not crossed each other, meaning that Hooda was to be ruled out.
