There is no dearth of cricketing talent in India. In a nation of a billion plus, the sport happens to be the most followed and played among all others. Understandably, the competition is immense for competitive cricket and to make it even to the Indian Premier League- the premier T20 competition in the country- one has to give his best on the field.

One such act of excellence was at display during match 28 of IPL 2021. While Rajasthan Royals had batted first and scored a whopping 220/3, thanks to Jos Buttler's hundred, Sunrisers Hyderabad had got off to a great start. After Manish Pandey got out for, Jonny Bairstow was looking to take the attack to the opposition but had to go back after a piece of brilliance on the field by a youngster playing his first match in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Debutant Anuj Rawat made easy work of a relatively difficult catch to send an in-form Jonny Bairstow back to the pavilion. While Bairstow was seemingly trying to clear the fence at long-on in a Rahul Tewatia delivery, he picked the ball turning away from him and ended up dragging the ball towards the long-on region where Rawat was stationed. The 21-year-old covered good ground and completed that catch.

Check out Anuj's impressive catch here:

What made the catch more special was the fact that Anuj usually dons the wicketkeeping gloves but in the presence of too many keeping options he had been assigned a different role. Meanwhile, Rawat did not get to bat in his first IPL match but the commitment he showed on the field will do no harm to his reputation as an emerging talent.
