Watford settled for a 1-1 draw against their Championship rivals West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns in the west Midlands. The Hornets’ winger Ismaila Sarr drew first blood for the away team as he scored a screamer of a goal from his own half in the 12th minute. As Watford was moving from defence to attack, Sarr received the ball behind the half line.

Here the Sengalese star dribbled a few steps ahead and launched the ball towards the as he caught West Brom's keeper off his line. The ball glided over the crowd of players and surged into the goal, giving Watford a 1-0 lead. But Sarr’s good fortunes didn’t continue throughout the match as he missed a penalty kick which led to the 1-1 draw in the 72nd minute.

After the match, Watford Head Coach Rob Edwards praised Sarr for a magical goal. “Just seeing it and his quality, it was a moment of genius really,” said Edwards. “It was a great bit of technique and vision – whenever you see a goal like that, it’s special. As soon as it left his foot, I thought it’s in. It was an amazing goal.

Rob Edwards then addressed his missed penalty and pointed out that he was the reason behind them getting the draw. He said, “I’m sure he was disappointed with it but he was incredible – he was the reason why we got a point. He scored a goal from nothing and he was brave enough to take the penalty; it didn’t go in but we probably didn’t deserve it.”
