The third day of the second Test between India and South Africa is getting interesting with every passing minute. Resuming the play for India, Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara showed some intent and played aggressive shots to earn valuable runs for their team. However, Kagiso Rabada struck thrice in quick succession to push the visitors on backfoot. In no time, India were reeling at 167/5 and were struggling to avoid a collapse. But what caught the eyes of the spectators was a heated verbal exchange between Jasprit Bumrah and Marco Jansen.

Indian batters were trying hard to score runs and set a healthy target with South Africa bowlers bowling at full throttle. With aggression coming from both ends, a verbal exchange between Mumbai Indians’ teammates Jasprit Bumrah and Marco Jansen was seen. In the 54th over of India’s second innings, Marco Jansen bowled a short ball while Bumrah swung his bat hard resulting in a poor connection.

After which, the two players exchanged a stare but Jansen went a step ahead and muttered a few words. The Indian batter probably did not like it and the two then started walking towards each other. However, the umpires stepped in between before things could go south.

South African bowlers probably had not seen Bumrah against England and what some muttering can do to him. But they were reminded about the same in the very next over after this heated exchange of words. On the second delivery of the 55th over, Kagiso Rabada bowled another bumper to Bumrah which was easily deposited by the latter in the stands.

Bumrah had played a similar shot off Rabada in the first innings as well. Talking about India’s second innings, the visitors got bowled out for 266 setting a target of 240 for South Africa. Some late flourish from Shardul Thakur and Hanuma Vihari helped KL Rahul-led India to take the lead past 220.
