Over the years, fans have witnessed some immensely emotional moments on the field. While sport is a sphere where often the players charged with emotions have an aggressive outburst at times, this time around it was all tears. Roma boss Jose Mourinho was caught shedding tears as the Italian club reached the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The team secured a place in the summit clash after beating Leicester City with a 2-1 aggregate. While Roma had played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the semi-final at the King Power, it was Tammy Abraham's first-half goal that turned out to be enough for Roma to qualify for the final.

Although it wasn't definitely the most important final that he has been part of, seconds before the final whistle by the referee, the 59-year-old was seen in tears. More than the manager, it was a big deal for the club which had just reached its second European final.

Have a look at the visuals here:

"Why did I shed a tear? Because I feel what they all feel," he said after the match.

"It’s a giant club without a trophy room for the social importance of this club," he added.

"I know what it means to these people and my emotion was for them. I’ve been lucky enough to be in more prestigious finals but this made me feel very special," he further said.

"We have a sense of family. With age, you become less selfish and more of a father or even a grandfather to some of them, I’m very happy for all of them. Rome is a red and yellow city, we’ll see the joy over the coming days. I’ve made a small contribution to that," he stated.

The win in the semis has now set up Giallorossi's fixture against the Dutch club Feyenoord Rotterdam in the finals later this month.
