The ongoing 2nd Test between Sri Lanka & West Indies has proven to be a thrilling contest in Galle with so much happening in the middle. From some resilient batting to magical bowling, from rain to batting collapses, the fans have seen it all in the contest so far. And when there is so much at stake, the grueling format of Test cricket often produces some cheeky moments of banter as well.

West Indies wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva has been in the thick of action in the entire season. He played a brilliant innings in the 1st Test but his knock went in vain as the home side went on to win the match. Apart from his abilities with bat, it’s his sledging skills behind the stumps which has caught everyone’s attention in this match.

The 23-year-old was involved in a hilarious moment with Dhananjaya de Silva earlier in the contest when he was heard telling the batsman that he will take his catch as revenge of what de Silva did in the previous match. And guess what! Da Silva caught de Silva few moments later.

However, in the second innings, it was Charith Asalanka who was promoted up the order and Joshua Da Silva knew that he had a new target. With very little play remaining on the day, the left-handed batsman came in to bat at No. 4 with a sole aim of surviving the rest of overs.

Roston Chase was bowling brilliantly at one end and this is when Joshua Da Silva was constantly in Asalanka’s ears to create pressure on the batsman. The West Indies wicketkeeper was telling the bowler that there is great chance to take his wicket, producing a masterclass of sledging.

“He is thinking about tomorrow already. All the shots he’s gonna play.. in the dressing room,” Joshua was hilariously caught saying on stump mic, much to the amusement of everyone.
