Cricket is a religion in India and there are no second opinions on that. The game gets so much love from the fans and so do the cricketers. With the change in decades, fans’ favorite cricketers have changed. While Kapil Dev used to be a hero in the 1980s, it was Sachin Tendulkar who ruled world cricket in the 90s and 2000s. These days, the two top names in Indian cricket are Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

While one is the current captain of the national team, the other is regarded as the best batter in the country. But as with everything in this world, there is a second aspect to this as well. There is also a section of people that holds a second opinion about these two and they are not wrong in doing as people can differ in their opinions regarding their favourite player. Not just fans, but the professionals working in the sports industry also share their points of view.

Although they are not allowed to speak in a biased manner, they can talk about a cricketer in the way they want. They are allowed to criticize, praise, question, and do every other thing their profession needs them to. But whatever they do must be ethical. However, a recent trend has seen some reputed media houses or journalists using foul language while talking about a Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna awardee winner has surfaced on social media.

An incident around the same took place recently on national television when a reputed journalist from a popular media house body-shamed Indian team captain Rohit Sharma and called him "bhagoda" for taking a break. Replying to a comment from a fan who criticized the journalist for calling Rohit a "bhagoda", the media personnel lost his cool and started criticizing the cricketer for taking a break.

“Where is your Rohit Sharma? He is enjoying a vacation. Bring him to the cricket field, he is a cricketer. But rather he is busy enjoying his vacation. He is a bhagoda. Has become like (Navjot Singh) Sidhu, who is avoiding playing cricket. He is avoiding facing Rabada. If he has the guts, he should come and play.

"He is resting for what? Which injury? He is seeking rest after every 20 days. Rohit Sharma is not playing in India’s bilateral series…The runs are not coming, he is not able to move in the field, has bloated stomach (gestures), but is being called superstars,” said the journalist.
