India started their final game at the T20 World Cup on a high. After skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to field first, the other members of the team duly certified the captain's approach by restricting Namibia to 132/8 in the stipulated quota of 20 overs. Ravindra Jadeja was the star of the night with figures of 3/16 while Ravichandran Ashwin picked up as many wickets by giving away 20 runs.

Apart from maintaining their bowling standard, Team India also lived up to the expectations through their fielding as well. However, one effort saw the Indian fans getting heart in their mouth as it could have injured India opener KL Rahul badly. It happened on the fourth ball of the 20th over when Ruben Trumpelmann hit a lofted shot off Mohammed Shami towards the cow corner. Rahul, who was at long-on, covered good ground in short time and attempted to take the catch. He also put an amazing dive finally to grab the ball, but the ball landed just in front of his flying hands and went past the boundary line. Meanwhile, Rahul's dive was so quick and dangerous that the player landed badly on his shoulders.

While it looked like Rahul would be taken off the field post that, he kept on fielding in the game and got off the field with his teammates only after the end of the 20 overs. It was too lucky for Rahul to escape unscathed despite such a risky dive.

KL Rahul opens batting for India against Namibia

While everyone was worried about Rahul, the batter coming to open for India provided people respite. Before the game against Namibia, Rahul played sensational knocks of 69 and 50 against Afghanistan and Scotland, respectively. He, however, had failed in the games against Pakistan and New Zealand with the respective scores of 3 and 18. The game against Namibia is India's last at the ongoing mega event as they have already been knocked out of the tournament. Rahul is likely to have more responsibilities over himself during India's upcoming T20I series against New Zealand as a majority of the experienced Indian players are likely to skip the series to take rest.
