The do-or-die match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings is turning out to be a thriller with both teams giving their best to win the game. After conceding 159/7 in 20 overs, Punjab Kings got off to a flying start as Jonny Bairstow led the charge. The opening batter scored timely boundaries to keep the scoreboard up and running.

However, Anrich Nortje cut Bairstow’s innings short with a well-directed bouncer. With Bairstow gone, the onus was on Shikhar Dhawan to capitalize on the good start. But the batter did not look comfortable at the crease. Dhawan was struggling to find the middle of the bat.

Against Lalit Yadav as well, Dhawan looked edgy as he tried to get off the strike. In the same process, he almost lost his wicket. On the fourth delivery of the fifth over, Dhawan danced down the track and nudged the ball for a quick single. Meanwhile, his partner Rajapaksa was not prepared for that run. Resultantly, both batters were left stranded at the non-striker end.

Lalit, who had dived to save the single was not aware of what was happening. He just reacted to his instincts and tried throwing the ball towards the wicketkeeper. But with him not being in the best shape, the throw rather went towards the square leg and Dhawan survived the runout chance.

Even after this lucky save, Dhawan did not look in a good rhythm and was struggling to middle the ball. His struggle in the middle was ended by DC pacer Shardul Thakur who got him caught behind. Thakur bowled a length delivery to which Dhawan tried to slice towards point but ended up edging it straight into the hands of Rishabh Pant.
