Legendary Argentina footballer Lionel Messi, who recently ended the country's 28-year-wait for a major international trophy, took it upon himself to share a part of his success with his fans. While an international silverware was the only thing missing in his already illustrious career, after filling that void Messi shared his success with his 100-year-old passionate fan. FC Barcelona's record goal-scorer and appearance maker video called Don Hernon, who has gained popularity in recent weeks on TikTok.

Notably, Hernan, the Spanish grandfather is a big Messi fan and has followed his career since its inception. He has even recorded each and every goal that the superstar has scored for his club and country all by himself noting them down with a pencil. Such is his passion towards Messi that he has filled approximately 720 notebooks to cover Messi's goals.

"Hello Hernan. Your story reached me," Messi said in the video. He also thanked him and said that he wanted to send him a big hug for such a gesture from him.

"It seems crazy to me that you have been recording my goals and in that way, and that is why I wanted to send you a big hug and thank you for what you do, for all your follow-up work.," he added.

The video was shared by Hernon's grandson on social media and has since then gone viral.

Thank you so much everyone," he captioned the video.

Several media reports have claimed that Messi is set to sign a five-year contract with Barcelona to extend his stay at the club. It is also being reported that he has agreed to take a wage cut although an official announcement is yet to come from the La Liga giants.
