Messi told me it was my final: Di Maria

It was Angel Di Maria who made the difference between the two sides in the all-important Copa America final. The PSG forward received a long through ball from De Paul and chipped it beautifully to find the back of the nets for Argentina. Di Maria who won his first international title with Argentina alongside Messi revealed what the skipper told him after the win.

“It’s going to be unforgettable. Messi told thanks to me, I said thanks to him! He told me that it was my final, that it was the rematch for the finals that I couldn’t play. It had to be today and today it was”.

Di Maria also claimed that the win will be a huge boost for Argentina going into the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
