Lionel Messi knows a thing or two about winning on the football pitch. And now a gesture from the football superstar has won the hearts of his fans worldwide. Messi opened up his temporary Florida home to greet his fans who were waiting outside the place to catch a glimpse of the Argentine currently on a holiday in the United States. The 34-year-old recently ended his drought of a major international trophy with La Albiceleste after losing four finals as Argentina defeated Brazil 1-0 in the finals of the Copa America earlier this month.

After his thirst for an international trophy got quenched, he shared a picture with the Copa America trophy which shattered all sorts of records on Instagram. That picture surpassed his own picture with Diego Maradona and LeBron James mourning post of Kobe Bryant as the most liked sporting post of all time with close to 21 million likes. Messi was later mobbed while attempting to move out of a restaurant in Miami where he is enjoying a vacation with his family after the historic win.

While the video of him getting mobbed had also emerged, now a video of his heartwarming gesture is also doing the rounds on the internet. With the locals crowding in good numbers outside the property where was staying, he opened up its gate to meet them.

Check out the videos here:

From videos trending online, one can see Messi waiting with his wife Antonela also following him. Although a young boy can be seen going straight to him for a selfie, others are patient and wait for their turn and give the multiple world-record holder some space. Yet another video shows Messi from behind the fence but yet giving away autographs and waving at them, making their days.

While Leo is only on a vacation in The States, earlier reports had linked him to a potential move to the Major League soccer side Inter Miami. However, all of those speculations finally came to an end when it was reported that Barcelona's record goal-scorer and appearance maker has agreed to a substantial wage cut to prolong his association with the club. The six-time Ballon d'Or winner is likely to sign an extension with the La Liga giants which will keep him at the club till 2026.
