Lucknow Super Giants did manage to get an early breakthrough in the ongoing match against Chennai Super Kings. However, it was in a bizarre fashion. It all happened in the third ball of the third over being bowled by Andrew Tye. While the ball hit Gaikwad's pads and the Lucknow players started appealing, Gaikwad started to look for an unlikely run and committed himself too far down the pitch.

Sensing an opportunity to run Gaikwad out, Ravi Bishnoi put in a direct hit, catching Gaikwad way short as he tried to come back to the striker's end.

Have a look at the dismissal here:

Despite the shaky start, the Chennai Super Kings managed to put on 210 runs on the board, which many thought would be enough. Robin Uthappa, Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni chipped in with the bat. However, Lucknow Super Giants used the wet conditions to their advantage to chase down the mammoth total with 3 balls remaining. Quinton de Kock, Evin Lewis and Ayush Badoni starred with the bat for Lucknow as the KL Rahul-led side registered their first win in IPL cricket.

This happens to be the first time that CSK have lost their first two matches of an IPL season.
