ATK Mohun Bagan’s Group D match against Bashundhara Kings in the ongoing AFC Cup was halted midway due to a heavy thunderstorm. Although it was resumed ten minutes later, the situation on the ground looked out of control with everything going flying. It was already pouring when the players walked out in the middle but the play started.

However, after a few minutes into the game, a heavy thunderstorm hit the venue and players seemed to be struggling to keep control of themselves, leaving aside the talk of them controlling the ball. The advertising boards also went flying. The visibility was also reduced drastically forcing the players to go inside.

However, after thighs got back to normal, players were called back to resume the play.

Liston Colaco storm hits Bashundhara Kings

As the game resumed after this heavy thunderstorm, Bashundhara Kings were hit by another storm called ‘Liston Colaco’. The ATK Mohun Bagan striker shook the opposition with his hattrick of goals. Colaco struck three times within a span of 29 minutes to throw Kings out of the game completely.

The 23-year-old first hit the back of the nest in the 24th minute to give his team an opening. Nine minutes after the first goal, Colaco once again beat the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 in Mohun Bagan’s favour. He completed a hat-trick as he hit the third goal for ATKMB in the 53rd minute of the play.

On the back of Colaco’s heroics, Mohun Bagan completely dominated the match against Bashundhara Kings. David Williams also chipped in with a goal in the 77th minute to give Mohun Bagan a 4-0 lead over the Kings which stayed intact till the end of full-time.
