Test cricket is often regarded as the ultimate Test. Not only does this format of the game tests one's skills for an extended period of five Tests but is a Test of stamina, fitness and of concentration levels. During the ongoing Test match between South Africa and Bangladesh though, a possible lapse in concentration from Mehidy Hasan Miraz resulted in him getting injured.

The incident happened in just the second ball of the second South African batting innings on Sunday. While the bowler was Ebadot Hossain, the home team opener Sarel Erwee played one cut shot which went straight to the Hasan. However, he could not spot it at all and he took a nasty blow to his body.

So serious was the nature of his injury that he had to be stretched off the ground. It is being reported that Hasan may have had lost sight of the ball as it got camouflaged in the background. The 24-year-old Bangladesh cricketer looked in pain but was conscious before he was taken off the field.

A video of the ball hitting Hasan has surfaced.

Have a look at it here:

As far as the match scenario is concerned, South Africa have taken a lead of close to 400 runs as of now in what is the second Test match of the series at Gqeberha. While the Proteas managed 453 in the first innings, Bangladesh were bowled out for 217. In the second innings, the hosts have lost 5 wickets for 154 but the visitors will have a huge task ahead of them of they want to make a match out of this.
