The Day 1 of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction in Bengaluru has been nothing short of any action and drama. From Ishan Kishan becoming the most expensive player on the day (Rs 15.25 Cr to MI), there were a few major surprises as well with experienced players like Suresh Raina and Steve Smith getting unsold. There were some intense bidding wars which fans witnessed in the first half of the day but the most hilarious moment of the day came during the auction of Josh Hazlewood.

The Aussie pacer was always going to be one the most sought after overseas bowlers, considering what he has done for CSK in past and his national side in recent times. Mumbai Indians, who were in search of a replacement for Trent Boult, showed a lot of interest in getting the player on board and they had almost pulled it off at one point in time.
