The next edition of Indian Premier League is just a few days away as the cash-rich T20 league is all set to return in a grand avatar with 10 teams this year. It has been reported that IPL 2022 could happen in India only (in Maharashtra and Ahmedabad) and is likely to begin in last week of March.

The current international group of Indian players would be fully prepared for it as they have a busy white-ball calendar (having played against South Africa and upcoming games against West Indies and Sri Lanka). On the other hand, many international stars are also getting into rhythm by participating in leagues like Bangladesh Premier League and Pakistan Super League.

But what about those players who take part in none of the series and tournaments mentioned? Well, this is where their personal training comes into picture and the biggest name who prepares for IPL by playing only in nets is - MS Dhoni.

The CSK skipper retired from international cricket way back on August 15, 2020 and since then, he is seen either playing in nets or for the franchise in Indian Premier League. He was last seen on the field during the final of last season (against KKR) when he guided the Yellow Army to their 4th ever IPL title.

And with the new season approaching, Thala has now returned to nets to get himself completely ready. The 40-year-old was captured on Monday where he was seen leaving a ball before producing a gorgeous straight drive. The video has gone viral on social media, which was reportedly shot by a fan in Ranchi.

It must be noted that MS Dhoni will captain Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022 with an official dismissing all the rumours about Ravindra Jadeja taking over from him during the season. Recently, MSD also had a meeting with team management, which would have possibly been regarding the upcoming mega auction set to take place in Bengaluru on Feb 12-13. CSK will have to build their squad from scratch once again around their retentions: MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, Ruturaj Gaikwad.
