The wish of all the Thala fans was finally fulfilled during match number 12 of IPL 2021 as MS Dhoni walked out to bat in the 14th over of CSK innings. After some explosive cameos from Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali, Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu, the Yellow Army found themselves in a position to post a good total.
MSD survives a major scare
As fans set their eyes on their TV screens, MSD defended the first two deliveries, increasing the curiosity of the fans. However, it was then when Thala survived a major scare as he was close to getting out on another duck in this season. After playing a forward defensive shot off Rahul Tewatia, the 39-year-old took-off for a single as soon as he touched the ball but Jadeja sent him back. As Thala turned back, he found himself in a state of trouble with the fielder throwing the ball in a flash. It is when MSD did something that he is not known for throughout his illustrious cricket career. The captain cool put on a valiant dive and reached the crease on time before Sanju Samson whipped the bails off.

The fans were extremely shocked to see MSD producing a dive on the field of cricket. As everyone knows, the 39-year-old stated that he regrets not diving during the WC 2019 semis. Mahi has definitely added this aspect of the game in his armoury. CSK skipper (18 runs off 17 deliveries) played a few good shots after that before losing his wicket to Chetan Sakariya.
