Despite finding themselves in a spot of bother, Bangladesh have managed to post a respectable 246 in the second ODI against Sri Lanka at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Dhaka on Tuesday. For much of the first innings, it seemed to be a replica of the first match, where Bangladesh had lost four wickets with less than 100 runs on the board and much like Mushfiqur Rahim was their saviour in the first ODI, he came to their rescue in the second, bettering his own effort this time around and reaching a well-made hundred.

His innings, which included 10 boundaries, was the only real highlight of the Bangladesh innings as none of the other batters crossed the 50-run mark. Mahmudullah did get set but could not score more than 41 and hence it was all about Mushfiqur in the end who fell in the last over for 125 from 127 balls, trying to accumulate maximum runs in the remaining few deliveries.

The veteran batsman continued his rich form and played a match-reviving innings on Tuesday. While the hosts registered a 1-0 win in the opening contest, this is a must-win game for Sri Lanka to stay alive in the three-match series.
