Emotions can get the better of even the coolest of customers. Especially when it comes to heartbreaks on the sporting field. The same was evident during the match between SunRisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans where the Orange Army sustained a heart-breaking loss with Rashid Khan smashing the final ball for six with 3 runs needed for victory in the last ball of the match.
While Marco Jansen was entrusted with the responsibility of defending 22 in the last over, when he conceded a couple of sixes, even the usually pretty cool Muttiah Muralitharan was seen losing his calm in the dugout. In a video that has now surfaced on social media, he was seen mouthing "why the f***" is he bowling full" clearly unhappy with the way Jansen was bowling the final over of the match.
Have a look at the video here:
In the end, Gujarat ended up winning the match by 5 wickets which looked rather unlikely at one stage with half the side back in the pavilion and 56 needed from 24 balls. However, Rashid Khan's 11-ball 31 including 3 sixes in the final over helped Gujarat win in dramatic style. Rahul Tewtia too played his part to perfection, scoring 40 off 21 balls. The stage was set earlier by Wriddhiman Saha who scored 68 from 38 deliveries but all of this meant that Umran Malilk's maiden five-wicket haul in IPL came in a losing cause.
However, Umrad did manage to grab the Player of the Match award as a consolation.
