Spirit of cricket is a much talked about topic in the sport. Everyone has a different point of view on the same but whenever we see such moments of sportsmanship during a competitive game, it brings a smile on faces of everyone. Another brilliant example of the same was at display recently where Nepal's wicket-keeper Aasif Sheikh did something really brilliant.

It all happened during one of the matches of 2021-22 Oman Quadrangular Series. Nepal pacer Kamal Singh Airee was bowling to Ireland's Mark Adair when the batter mistimed his shot and the ball went up in the air towards the right of the bowler.

Andy McBrine, who was at the non-striker's end, ran for a quick single. But in the process, there was slight contact between him and the bowler who was towards the ball to prevent a run. As a result, McBrine lost his balance which gave an opportunity to Nepal to run him out.

Kamal Singh Airee threw the ball towards the wicket-keeper but what followed afterwards left everyone in awe of him. Aasif Sheikh collected the ball and while the batsman had lost all hope of completing the run, the Nepal wicket-keeper surprisingly refused to run him out setting a brilliant example of spirit of cricket.

As the on-air commentators said, this moment will surely become one of the nominations for this year's ICC Spirit of Cricket Award. Last year, it was New Zealand's Daryll Mitchell who was the recipient of this award for his unbelievable gesture of not taking a single (because of a collision with bowler) in a crunch situation at the semi-finals of T20 World Cup 2021.
