Paris St Germain reached the Champions League semi-finals despite a 1-0 home defeat by holders Bayern Munich on Tuesday as they progressed on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate result. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s goal was not enough for Bayern to go past the French giants. Neymar twice came close to scoring but was denied by the post and bar respectively on both occasions. PSG will now play the winner between Manchester City and Dortmund in semis.

Post the result, Neymar's celebration with Leo Parades did not go down too well with Bayern's Joshua Kimmich. The Brazilian star, who started celebrating right in front of his opponent, later said that he did not do that to mess around with Kimmich but it was just a coincidence that the Bayern Munich star happened to be there.

Kimmich said that they would win: Neymar

"He (Kimmich) said that their team was better, that they would win. He was sure that they would go to the semifinals," said the 29-year-old after the match. When Bayern Munich had hosted the first leg, Mbappe's brace coupled with Marquinhos' had helped PSG net three away goals- massive advantage moving to the second leg which they were able to maintain at home.

A Robert Lewandowski-less Bayern could not match PSG's three away goals on Tuesday with Choupo-Moting's 40th minute strike being the sole goal of the match. The result implies that Bayern are eliminated from the ongoing season of the Champions League.
