One witnessed a high-scoring thrilling game of cricket in a Pondicherry T10 fixture at the Cricket Association Puducherry Siechem Ground, Puducherry on June 4, Saturday. After Royals batted first after winning the toss and posted a mammoth 157/3 in a 10-over match, most cricket lovers would have thought it should be an easy win for them.
However, the Patriots had other ideas. Their batting effort led by Krishna Pandey took the chasing side tantalizingly close but they failed to cross the line, losing by 5 runs. Pandey eventually scored 83 off 19 deliveries and finished with 12 sixes and 2 fours. He took a particular liking to Nitesh Thakur, who was bowling the sixth over of the innings where he smashed six maximums in an over. 4 of these sixes were hit on the on-side while a couple went over the fence on the offside.

However, despite Pandey's efforts, Aravindaraj A's 2/21 and Bharath Kumar-G's 1/14 ensured Royals ended up as the winning team. Earlier, Royals' batter R Ragupathy set up this win for them as he scored an unbeaten 84 off 30 deliveries with the help of 10 sixes and 4 boundaries.
