Rafael Nadal defeated Taylor Fritz in an injury stricken hWimbledon quarter-final on Wednesday. During the match, the 22-time grand slam winner’s father and sister were seen asking the star to quit owing to his abdominal injury.
Nadal made a remarkable comeback after suffering an abdominal injury in SW19 quarter-final. The 36-year-old was suffering from pain when his father Sebastian and sister Maria gestured him to quit the last eight fixture. The television camera spotted Nadal’s family in the players’ box demanding him to retire.

But after taking medical assistance in the second set, the Spaniard pulled off a sensational comeback by winning the quarter-final 3-6, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (10-4) at the Centre Court.
Nadal was asked whether his family wanted him to quit, he said, “They told me I need to retire the match, yes. For me it was tough to retire in the middle of the match. Not easy even if I had that idea for such a long time. It’s something that I hate to do. So I just kept trying, and that’s it.”
Rafael Nadal will now face Australian Nick Kyrgios in the Wimbledon semi-final on Friday. However, he is unsure for his clash owing to his injury. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic will take on the likes of Cameron Norrie in another semi-final clash.
