The weather across India has been witnessing some early showers. Kolkata is one such city that has been affected badly by heavy rains and thunderstorms. This has also affected the smooth traveling by planes and trains. An example of the same was seen during the IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals' flight from Mumbai to Kolkata.

The travel was affected by bad weather with the flight facing turbulence midway in the air. The franchise shared a video on their social media platforms where players and staff members look worried about unpleasing conditions around. A part of the video also shows the flight completed covered in fog.

Rajasthan to play Qualifier 1 against Gujarat Titans

Notably, Rajasthan Royals were traveling to Kolkata to take part in Qualifier 1 which is set to be played on 24 May in Kolkata at the Eden Gardens. Gujarat Titans will be RR’s opponent in the first semifinal (virtual) of IPL 2022. As Gujarat and Rajasthan finished in the first and second positions respectively, they will play Qualifier 1.

The winner will get a direct place in the final while the loser will get another chance where they will play the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2 (second semifinal) which will be played on May 27 in Ahmedabad. The Eliminator will be played between the third and fourth-placed teams (Lucknow and Bangalore) on May 25 at the same venue as Qualifier 1 (Eden Gardens).

Meanwhile, the final fixture of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be played on 29 May at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Now coming back to Qualifier 1, while Rajasthan are coming on the back of a convincing win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Gujarat lost their last league game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The two teams met once in the league stage where Gujarat emerged victorious by 37 runs.
