Rajat Patidar was on fire against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL 2022 Eliminator. The batter played a prolific knock of 112* off 54 balls to power his team to 207/4 in their 20 overs. Patidar hit 7 sixes in his innings and all of them were timed brilliantly. He was putting so much effort behind his every shot that the ball was travelling miles.

And anything coming in-between was being torn apart, just like LSG’s team fridge. One of Patidar’s sixes hit the LSG fridge put inside the dugout and shattered its glasses. The incident took place in the 16th over of the RCB innings.

Ravi Bishnoi was being taken to the cleaners by Rajat Patidar. The RCB batter started the onslaught on the second ball of the over when he hit Bishnoi for a maximum. He then got a lucky four when Hooda dropped a catch near the ropes. The next ball, Patidar smoked another one for a maximum. He followed it with a boundary.

On the last ball of the over, Patidar took charge and deposited a full ball from Bishnoi straight down the ground. With so much power on that shot, the ball travelled quickly towards the ropes and eventually hit the fridge placed near the ropes.

Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik blow away LSG bowlers

Rajat Patidar found a perfect partner in Dinesh Karthik to finish things off for RCB. While the big three of RCB, Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell fell early, Patidar and Karthik put their hands up to put on a fighting total on the board in a must-win game. After Mahipal Lomror fell, Karthik joined Patidar in the middle. Although he looked rusty in the first few balls, he took charge once he found his momentum.

The wicketkeeper batter, who has been in a prolific form throughout the season, hit a maximum against Dushmantha Chameera and then continued from thereon. Karthik scored an unbeaten 37 off 23 balls with the help of five fours and one six. He put up a 92-run stand with Patidar in just 41 balls.
