On Wednesday (January 12), Rashid Khan played his last game of ongoing season of Big Bash League as he gets set to leave for international duties. And as expected, the Afghanistan spinner ensured that he won't be leaving without making the headlines! The 23-year-old literally stole the show in his farewell game for Adelaide Strikers against Brisbane Heat through his all-round display.

After opting to bat first, the Strikers needed some quick runs at Gabba and Rashid Khan was promoted up the order (at No. 5) to do the job. The right-handed batsman did not disappoint as he kicked off his innings with two consecutive sixes off the bowling of Bartlett.

His 4-ball 13-run knock helped his side to a competitive total of 161/4 in 20 overs and the stage was perfectly set for his magical brilliance.

Rashid weaves magic at Gabba

Things did not begin perfectly for the leg-spinner as he went for 11 runs in his very first over of the day. Brisbane Heat were in a strong position with the score reading 62/2 in 8 overs and this is when the Rashid storm arrived which changed the course of the match in a matter of few minutes.

Lachlan Pfeffer was run-out on the first delivery of Rashid's 2nd over before the leg-spinner dismissed Sam Heazlett and Jake Lehmann on back-to-back deliveries to complete a team hattrick for Strikers. He was removed from the attack after this over and when he returned to bowl the 13th over of the innings, the leg-spinner sent Will Prestwidge back to the pavilion.

Rashid completed the job in his final over of the season (15th over of the innings) as he dismissed Matthew Kuhnemann, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Liam Guthrie in space of six deliveries to end his quota of 4 overs with scintillating figures of 6/17.
