Ravichandran Ashwin has expressed his feelings on sharing the dressing room with Jos Buttler after getting picked by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 Auction. The Royals made a successful bid of Rs 5 crore to secure the services of Ashwin. But the more interesting part of this purchase was his association with English wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler, whom the franchise decided to retain.
However, Ashwin seems much excited and delighted about joining Rajasthan as he can also be seen revealing his thoughts about sharing the dressing room with Jos Buttler in a video shared by Rajasthan Royals on Twitter.
“Hello everyone, earlier in the day I got picked by Rajasthan Royals. I am extremely delighted, they picked me. They tried hard to get me the last auction in 2018, but it’s come through finally. I have got a great rapport with all of them in that dugout. Shared a wonderful rapport with Sanju as well. So, looking forward to giving my complete best for the franchise and hopefully doing some special things over the course of the next three years,” said Ashwin.

In the league game of IPL 2019 between Rajasthan and Punjab, Ashwin, who was leading Punjab Kings, had run Buttler out at the non-strikers’ end when he had seen the batter moving out of the crease while he was about to bowl. Surprisingly, Ashwin dislodged the bails without giving a formal warning. The decision was made against the batter and both players were seen having an argument before a gutted Buttler walked back to the dugout.
That was the turning point of the contest and the Royals lost their way in the run chase. While the senior off-spinner was criticised by many including spin legend Shane Warne for his action, there were many who came forward and backed him as well.
We will now see both of them playing for the same team in the IPL and would be interesting to see the friendship that they will develop playing together.
