The first qualifier of IPL 2021 has certainly lived up to all the hype as Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals produced an exhibition of hard-fought cricket in Dubai on Sunday. The two top sides in the league stages of tournament certainly proved that there was very little separating them. It was like a tug-of-war where the match kept on shifting on either sides throughout the evening.

With so much at stake, the tempers also expectedly flared as there were various moments of players looking like losing their cool. MS Dhoni was involved in a heated discussion with umpire over a wide call in the first innings but it was the unexpected face-off between Ravichandran Ashwin and Ruturaj Gaikwad in the second innings which caught everyone's attention.

Amid so many face-offs expected in this contest, Ashwin vs Gaikwad was not the one that fans would have expected to see. However, with the match poised in such an intense situation, fans got to witness a battle between experience and youth.

It all started when Ravichandran Ashwin stopped while bowling to Ruturaj Gaikwad. The CSK youngster did not really look impressed with Ashwin's antics and as the DC spinner got ready to bowl the next delivery, Gaikwad stepped away and gave his reply without uttering a word.

As Ashwin returned to the bowling attack in the 13rd over, he did something very similar but Gaikwad kept his concentration and did not indulge himself in any battle as his batting partner Robin Uthappa took his revenge by smashing Ashwin for back-to-back boundaries.
