Ravindra Jadeja is one of the top fielders in world cricket. His commitment on the ground is unmatchable. But this IPL 2022 has not been so kind to the CSK player. Jadeja has dropped dollies. However, the CSK all-rounder almost took a blinder in his team's game against RCB on Wednesday (4 May). But in the process, Jadeja injured himself and looked in huge pain.

In the 18th over of the RCB innings, Mahipal Lomror mistimed a shot on the bowling off Dwaine Pretorious. The ball went high up in the air towards deep extra cover. Jadeja came running towards the ball and even got a hand on it, but his momentum kept taking him forward and he could not hold on to the catch.

To make matters worse, it seemed his left leg got stuck in the turf and Jadeja fell awkwardly to the ground. He remained on the ground for a while and needed some assistance from the physio.

CSK restrict RCB to 173!

Now coming to the match, with MS Dhoni back at the helm, CSK looks like a different team. Their bowlers showed great discipline to restrict RCB to 173 after conceding over 50 runs in the powerplay. Spinners pulled things back for Chennai as they bowled tight lines. Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, and Maheesh Theekshana conceded 75 runs in their 12 overs and also shared five wickets among them.

Theekshana ended the innings as the best bowler for CSK as he took three wickets at the expense of 27 runs. Moeen Ali, meanwhile, took two important wickets of Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli and gave away only 28 runs. Jadeja also showed great intent to finish his quota of 20 overs with an economy of 5. For RCB, Dinesh Karthik and Mahipal Lomror did the finishing job. While Lomror added 42 off 27 balls, Karthik accumulated 26* off 17 balls.
